Charcuterie Made Simple


Charcuterie Boards offer a flexible, adaptable and easy solution for any entertaining. While it may sound fancy, charcuterie boards are actually just platters of meat, cheese and cold hors d’oeuvres. There is something for everyone, and it allows for multitudes of flavor & texture combinations.

Not sure how to build the perfect board? Follow this guide and you’ll be a pro in no time.
Say Cheese

It’s best to pick 2-4 cheeses of different textures and intensities that can be enjoyed in combination with other ingredients on the board. Some of our favorites include Aged Cheddar, Brie, Goat Cheese and Gorgonzola.

Here are two ways we like to dress them up for the party:

  2. Brie with Raspberry Amaretto Preserves: Place a small wheel of Brie on your board and spread 1-2 tablespoons of POD & BEAN® Raspberry Amaretto Preserves on top. Sprinkle with freshly cracked black pepper and sea salt to taste.
Meet the Meats

Meats can often act as the backbone of the board. Choose between 1-3 different meats to feature, such as a stick of dried peppered salami, sliced prosciutto or spicy cappa. It’s a good idea to mix some “slice-it-yourself” pieces with pre-sliced meats for visual interest and ease of preparation.

The Dip End

Dips are a must have for a great board, as they usually pair with just about everything. Crowd pleasers include hummus, artichoke dip or olive tapenade. A quick way to put a homemade touch on prepared hummus is to transfer it from the store package to a new bowl, top with 1-2 tablespoons of your favorite olive oil and sprinkle with POD & BEAN® Sweet & Spicy Cocoa Rub.

Base Camp

Serve at least 2 types of crackers, 1-2 types of fruit and 1-2 types of vegetables for a complete board. These bases will be used for many of your guest’s combinations, so be sure to use robust crackers and slice your fruit and vegetables on the thicker side.
